Android Mobile Platform

Wow this Android platform has me really wound up... it seems like so far it would be the best platform to write a mobile application. Check out this link: http://www.developer.com/java/j2me/article.php/3763991. Of course what I like best about this platform is that it is written in Java. What I've always hated about writing applications in Java for higher end mobile (CDC) devices is the lack of support for Java. I've gotten Java applications to run on Windows Mobile 5 but the look and feel totally lacks and if you want to tap into native API's such as the GPS API it would be a real pain. With Android, Java would be the native language! Also there is no distinction between native applications and developer-created applications. They all have access to the same API's so if you didn't like the applications that came with it you could just build your own! I'll be watching this platform very closely!
